Belleville Wins Over Cambridge, Twice

The Belleville baseball team played at Cambridge on May 15th, shutting the home team out, 12-0. By the 4th inning the Wildcats were up by 5 and put 7 players across home plate in the top of the 6th.
Jackson Richter was 3x4 at bat with two runs scored and 2 RBIs and Austin Fahey was 2x4 at bat with one run scored and 1 RBI. Luke Kelly scored three runs, while Drew Shrader, Coltyn Winkers, Jaydon Winkers, Nathan Mabis, Derek Baumgartner and Dylan Gratz all scored one run each.
Derek Baumgartner, Austin Fahey and Cody McMillan shared pitching duties for the Wildcats, with Baumgartner striking out 3 and Fahey striking out 4. They only allowed the Cambridge team 3 hits.
The Wildcats hosted Wisconsin Heights on May 17th, losing 2-5. Heights took an early 3-0 lead and while Belleville attempted a comeback in the bottom of the 4th, Heights shut them down and added 2 more runs of their own to win the game.
Luke Kelly was 2x3 at bat with one run scored and 1 RBI while Austin Fahey, Jaydon Winkers and Dylan Gratz were all 1x4 at bat. Nathan Mabis scored the other run for the Cats.
Derek Baumgartner and Austin Fahey shared the mound, with Baumgartner striking out two and Fahey striking out one.
Cambridge visited Belleville on May 18th, hoping for a better outcome for their team than Tuesday's game, but no such luck was to be had for the visitors. The Wildcats, scoring 9 runs in the 1st and two in the 2nd, made it clear that Cambridge would go home without the win. Belleville won, 12-6.
Austin Fahey was 1x1 at bat with two runs scored and 1 RBI while Jackson Richter was 1x1 at bat with two runs scored and 2 RBIs and Jaydon Winkers was 2x3 at bat with two runs scored and 1 RBI. Luke Kelly scored two runs while Brock Kelly, Coltyn Winkers, Dylan Gratz and Nathan Mabis all scored one run each.
Cody McMillan, Jaydon Winkers, Dylan Gratz, Markus Markiewicz, Kody Fahey and Coltyn Winkers all pitched for the Wildcats.
On May 19th, the team traveled to Marshall, losing a heartbreaker, 8-9. Marshall had an early lead which they held most of the game until Belleville tied it up in the top of the 7th. On the very final play of the game, a Marshall player singled on a 0-1 count, and scored the game winning run.
Drew Shrader was 4x4 at bat, with 1 RBI while Austin Fahey was 2x4 at bat with two runs scored and Brock Kelly was 2x4 at bat with one run scored and 2 RBIs. Nathan Mabis scored two runs while Dylan Gratz, Luke Kelly and Jackson Richter all scored one run each.
The Wildcats played at Brodhead on May 21st, and will play a regional game against the winner of the #3 Marshall and #6 Waterloo game, on May 29th. The Wildcats are ranked #2 going into the tournament.
