Belleville and New Glarus Police Departments to Sponsor Police Citizens Academy

The dates have been set for the upcoming Police Citizens Academy, sponsored by the Belleville and New Glarus Police Departments.  There are a couple of openings.  If you are interested in knowing more about the ins and outs of police work, want to experience the training officers go through, or are curious about all that CSI stuff you see on TV, you would probably enjoy attending this Academy.  Participants will have opportunities to fire weapons, drive emergency vehicles, and collect evidence.  K-9 searches, field sobriety testing, and arrest tactics will be demonstrated.  Participants will tour the Dane County Jail and see the workings of the Dane County 911 dispatch center. 
Class will meet on Tuesday evenings from June 5 through July 31, at the EMS building in Belleville.  Transportation will be provided for off-site sessions.
