New Glarus Vision Offers Scholarship

New Glarus Vision is offering, for a third year, a $500 scholarship to a graduating New Glarus senior who is either pursuing an education in the trades and/or someone with plans to start a small business in New Glarus area.
The Vision group is a volunteer community group which was founded in 1994 with the goal to put community dreams into action. We are known for helping get the one and only stop light in town in our early years, to more recent years donating all the funds to supply Books for Kids to every New Glarus elementary student. Our group is always seeking ways to give back to the community and address community needs. A need identified a few years ago is the lack of scholarship support for those seeking trade school education. The trades are vital to our local community and local economy ranging from contractors, electricians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, farmers, landscapers and cosmetologists. These trades represent many small businesses, which in turn strengthen our community. We are trying to bring encouragement to those seeking training and employment in the trades.
If you know of any current New Glarus seniors who plan to pursue the trades and local small business options after graduation, please encourage them to apply for our scholarship. They can get information on how to apply through the New Glarus High School counselor.
