New Glarus Farmers Market Opens in New Location with More Local Vendors

Make the Market Your Friday Afternoon Destination for Food, Local Crafts, and Old-Fashioned Fun!

May 10, 2018

A dedicated team of local volunteers is working hard to bring back the New Glarus Farmers Market for the 2018 season. The Market will kick off on Friday May 11, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., in the New Glarus Hometown Pharmacy Parking Lot on Highway 69, south of the stop lights in New Glarus. In the plans for the 2018 season include vendor offerings of amazingly fresh, locally grown produce, meat, eggs, baked goods, jams, honey, pickles, sauerkraut, plants, fibers, artisanal crafts, and much more.

Market Manager, Danielle Zimmerman, says, “Holding the market in a new location and expanded vendor participation will improve market accessibility and keep customers returning on a weekly basis, to shop for weekly produce needs and fabulous seasonal offerings. The market will feature a variety of local vendor-entrepreneurs-farmers, bakers, home canners and artists.” “Proper nutrition is at the forefront of good health and wellness. Hometown Pharmacy is excited to be a part of the farmers market as they represent what we believe – nutritious food is the best medicine! Our family caring for your family,” Dan Strause, CEO Hometown Pharmacy.

Community farmers markets strengthen the local economy, offering a healthful alternative for food choices, which integrating the partnership with local business Hometown Pharmacy is focused on a healthier approach to customer’s health as well. The market provides a gathering place for like-minded customers to enjoy lively discussion about vendor offerings and local issues.

The Market Team asks for the community to spread the word about the Market. Success goes hand in hand with community involvement. Please accept an invitation to come out and visit on opening day and every market day throughout the season.
