2017-2018 Belleville Dairy Queen Bids Farewell

Hello everyone! I would like to thank everyone that came out tonight to the ice cream social! I am Mikayla Brey, your 2017-2018 Belleville Dairy Queen. I am the daughter of Todd and Tammy Brey, and with me tonight is my whole family.

Thank you to the Belleville Busy Beavers for setting up this event and the Rusty Hearts for letting me butt in and be able to pass on my crown.

Now, if we go back to June 6, 2017, I was crowned your queen and if you all remember I cried...a lot. But tonight I stand before you, probably going to cry as well, because my reign has come to an end. I absolutely loved being your queen this past year. I have had so many opportunities this past year. I met so many new people and made many friends along the way. Being in this program has taught me so many new abilities that I now have. I've become less shy and been able to publicly speak better than when I started. But that is just one example of many.

I enjoyed all the different events in each town and even outside of Green County. I will never forget the memories I have made with my fellow queens.

Princess, now I don't know why we stayed up so late the night I was crowned, but I'm glad we did. I don't know if we would have been so close otherwise and even figuring out we were basically long-lost twins...just one being short and one being tall. Janelle, thank you for capturing those moments.

Hailey, thank you for always being there for me, even when I didn't want it. Thank you for becoming one of my best friends quick and becoming a sister, even though you probably don't want another. For being a co-worker out on the farm and everything in between. But the real question is with you...when are you coming back?

Rae, thank you for being an amazing queen mom. For helping me through it all and answering all my questions. I can't wait to see how you continue to love and care for all of us past and new queens in the near future.

Thank you to my community for being there for me even when I was not in my crown and banner. Thank you for giving me an amazing opportunity to serve at the town's events.

Mom, thank you for dealing with me attitudes all year in and out of banner. You're amazing and you'll be a great chair for the years to come.

To my two girls, now I know both of you will make amazing queen and I hope that whoever does not get it this year runs again next year because it's an experience you don't want to miss. Also, for the county judging, going first isn't as bad as it seems to be trust me.

Ag Chest, thank you for being able to give me this lifetime experience that I'll never forget.

With that being said, I am Mikayla Brey, your 2017-2018 Belleville Dairy Queen.
