Fall for the Friends

October 25, 2018

Candy! Books! Dogs in costumes! It’s UFO Day this Saturday, October 27th, and the Friends of the Belleville Public Library are right in the thick of it. Our fall used book sale starts at 9:00 a.m., in the Old Library in Library Park. There are lots of bargains on paperbacks and hardcovers. Loads of audiobooks and DVDs, too! Join the Friends Saturday for $10.00 and you will receive a Belleville Public Library tote bag and a $2.00 fine coupon. Another great bargain. The book sale ends at 4:00 p.m., but continues the following week downstairs at the Library.

The 2nd annual Howl at the Moon Dog Show starts at 10:00 a.m. in Library Park. (Rain location is the Elementary School Gym.) Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Registration is $5.00 per dog, per event. The events are: Costume, Dog and Owner Look-A-Like, Stupid Pet Tricks, and Rally leashed and unleashed categories. Dogs may be entered in more than one contest. We will have celebrity judges on hand and prizes for the winners.

Then stay for the parade on Main Street at 1:00 p.m., and cheer on our Friends float. There will be candy galore!

Sharpen your brain! Get ready for the Friends 7th Annual Trivia Night at Sugar River Lanes on November 10th, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Registration is $15.00 for high schoolers and adults. Get together your team, or we will be happy to put you on a team.

All the proceeds for these events go toward Belleville Public Library’s building fund.
