On Saturday, February 23, 2019, the New Glarus Roboknights team Quantum Immobilizers competed at the First LEGO League State Championship as one of the 36 top teams in Wisconsin. They researched the problem of bone deterioration in microgravity and developed an innovative solution for producing artificial gravity while exercising the lower body and combating both motion and homesickness using virtual reality. They were able to collaborate with other FLL teams, area professionals and even some NASA scientists to solve problems and improve their prototype.

Although the team did not bring home a trophy, they were recognized for their strengths in Research and Gracious Professionalism. This is the 4th and final FFL season for 8th graders Jacob, Ava, Annelisa, Jessy, Keatan and Celeste, but Kofi and many other students in the program will continue next year. The team would like to thank all the volunteer coaches, New Glarus School District, the PTO and Culver's for their ongoing support.

This program couldn't continue without the support of our generous community. If you would like more information or are interested in supporting this program, please email ng.roboknights@ngsd.k12.wi.us. Go Knights!
