Belleville Police to Hold Drug Drop Off

April 18, 2019

The Belleville Police Department, along with the Belleville Area Cares Coalition (BACC), will be taking drive-up drug drop offs in the Belleville Fire Department parking lot, 33 E. Main Street, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, April 27, 2019, which is National Drug Take Back Day. This is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unused and expired prescription and over-the-counter drugs. Solid and liquid medications, creams, ointments, nasal sprays, and pet medication can be left for disposal. Items that CANNOT be accepted are intravenous solutions, inhalers, aerosols, injectables, or sharps/needles. It’s best if pills are emptied into unlabeled plastic baggies. When dropping off medications in containers, please remove the labels or mark out any personal information.

While supplies last, BACC will be handing out a gift certificate for a local business to any adult who participates in the Drug Take Back Day on April 27, 2019.

The Belleville Police Department also has drug drop-off bin available year-round that can be accessed by calling the PD at (608) 424-3129. There is also a drug drop-off bin located in front of the Belleville Hometown Pharmacy, 1 W. Main Street, Belleville.
