Belleville to Host Bastille Day Lakefest

Belleville will be hosting Bastille Day Lakefest, a unique festival that will celebrate Lake Belle View, Main Street and the town’s French Heritage on Saturday, July 13, from 1:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m. The festival will offer various family-oriented entertainment centered around nature and wildlife education, promote water activities and encourage community connections. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Belleville Community Health Improvement Project and the Belleville Community Assistance Program.

An exciting new feature at this year’s festival will be three lumberjack shows and an interactive lumberjack camp. Free use of canoes and kayaks will be available for enjoyment during the festival. There will be a 1-mile Youth Run taking place on the Lake Belle View loop at 6:30 p.m., and a 5K Run/Walk will start and end on Main Street at 8:00 p.m. First, second and third place winners will be awarded for the 1-Mile Youth Run and 5K Run in Men’s and Women’s divisions. The Youth Run is open to anyone 12 years old and younger. The 5K Run/Walk will have the following age categories: 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+.

Bastille Day Lakefest will offer various educational and interactive programs throughout the day including Critter Man and Bird Watching by the Belleville Public Library, Kids & Bugs by the Upper Sugar River Watershed Association, a French Fur Trade Re-enactment Camp, a Photo Contest Display with the opportunity for the public to vote for People’s Choice Award, Belleville History & French Heritage Display by the Belleville Historical Society, Carp Fishing Contest, River Boat Rides on the Sugar River, Live Acoustic Music and French Heritage Foot Parade traversing historic French sites in Belleville. Everyone is welcome to walk. The newly crowned Miss Wisconsin 2019 will be gracing the event and participating in the foot parade together with the Dairy Princesses.

The festival admission is free. Donations are appreciated.

The Lumberjack Shows are presented by Francois Ford and JH Findorff & Son.

The free canoe and kayak is provided by Sugar River Outfitters.

The Bastille Day Lakefest is organized in cooperation with the Belleville Economic Development Committee, Belleville Public Library, Village of Belleville, Belleville School District, and Belleville Chamber of Commerce.
