Swiss Church Hosting Annual Kilby Supper

September 19, 2019

Swiss Church will be hosting their annual 2019 Kilby Supper on Saturday, September 28, 2019. Food will be served from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Dining will be at Swiss Church in Fellowship Hall. Carry outs will also be available. Additionally, delivery service is available for those unable to drive downtown to pick up your meals. Please contact the church office at (608) 527-2119 if you would like to make your reservation for a delivery.

If parking is a challenge downtown – no problem! A Shuttle Service is being offered between the New Glarus Home Chapel parking lot and the church. Guests are welcome to park at the New Glarus Home Chapel parking lot. Drivers will drop you off at the 4th Avenue entrance to the church, and then will take you back to your vehicle again when you have finished your dinner. Note, 4th Avenue will be closed throughout the day for the Oktoberfest Tractor Pull. It is anticipated to be opened again by 4:00 p.m., or shortly thereafter that day.

We will also be hosting our “Taste of Kilby” food stand at the 5th Avenue side of the church lawn on Saturday, September 28th, from 12:00 noon until ~7:30 p.m. “Walking Swiss Meatballs”, a dollop of Swiss Mashed Potatoes, as well as bottled water will be offered.

The Kilby Supper is a long-standing tradition of Swiss Church, and everyone is welcome! The Supper is a favorite of residents and visitors alike; it includes a traditional Swiss-style meal offering guests a host of specialties made from original recipes handed down for generations. This is the largest annual fundraising event for the Swiss Church. This year, the proceeds will be directed to various capital improvement projects that have been identified on the church campus.

The Kilby dinner includes Swiss Meatballs, Ham, Swiss Potatoes, Swiss Beans, Applesauce, Cheese, and Swiss Bread. Dessert will feature more Swiss specialties, including Braetzli, Pear Bread, Zuribieter, and homemade pies and ice cream. Milk and coffee are included.

The supper is open to the public and tickets can be purchased in advance at the Church Office during normal business hours. Tickets will also be available for purchase the day of the event at the Taste of Kilby food tent that afternoon, or you can purchase your tickets at the door that evening. The cost is $14.00 per person (children under six eat free). Everyone is welcome!
