New Glarus Fire Department, as well as New Glarus Area EMS, were among those who responded to a two-vehicle accident on STH 39 and Klitzke Road on September 19, 2019.

At 6:37 p.m., Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash with non-life threatening injuries at the intersection of STH 39 and Klitzke Road, Town of New Glarus. Investigation revealed that a motorist had been traveling westbound on STH 39 when he attempted a U-turn to drive back eastbound. That caused him to collide with another motorist who was traveling eastbound on STH 39, and the impact caused both motorists to go off the roadway. Both vehicles were removed by a tow truck due to disabling damage. Those involved in the crash sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to a hospital for treatment. Both motorists had been wearing their seatbelts and needed to be extricated from the vehicle. This case is still under investigation.
