New Glarus Community Blood Drive - December 27, 2019

December 19, 2019

There’s one word that seems to describe almost everyone’s life this time of year: busy. Chances are you’ve noticed more traffic on the way to the mail, more promotional mail from stores in your inbox and mailbox and maybe even more activity at work before many employees go on vacation. But patients need your help no matter what.

Want a great way to take a little break from all the hustle? Give blood. It only takes about an hour from when you enter to when you leave, and you’ll get a chance to sit down, give something precious, and get a little snack.

Plus, get an exclusive winter Red Cross long-sleeved T-shirt when you come to give between December 19-January 5 (while supplies last).

This time of year, many donors miss or forget to schedule their appointments. You can help fulfill the urgent need for blood. Give more life. Blood is a perishable product that can only come from generous volunteers. By donating blood, individuals can make a difference in the lives of patients in their community and throughout the nation.

Your next opportunity to donate in New Glarus is on Friday, December 27, 2019, from 12:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., at the New Glarus Bible Church, 207 6th Street.

To make an appointment or to learn more, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). Completion of a RapidPass online health history questionnaire found at is encouraged to help speed up the donation process. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
