Hunter Safety Classes

January 30, 2020

The Green County Sheriff’s Office is again offering DNR Hunter Safety classes in 2020. Our goal in providing this instruction is to reduce the potential for accidents, injuries and fatalities. We also look to reduce the potential for conflict between participants, landowners and other resource users; and to promote safe, responsible and ethical use of the environment and our resources.

Before registering for classes, recreational safety students are required to have a Wisconsin DNR Customer ID Number. You can obtain a DNR Customer ID Number by using the DNR website https://gowild.wi.gov/, or by visiting a DNR service center during their regularly scheduled hours.

There are two classes scheduled for 2020. Class 1 is conducted on Saturday and Sunday, April 4 and 5, 2020, both days from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Class 2 is on Saturday and Sunday, August 1 and 2, 2020, both days from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Both classes will be held in the lower level of the Green County Justice Center, 2841 6th Street, Monroe.

Anyone interested in taking the class can register online on the WI DNR website at https://gowild.wi.gov/. Enroll soon, as classes fill up quickly! Class fees will be collected on the Saturday class day. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Christopher Fiez at fiezc@greensheriff.com or (608) 328-9580.
