On Sunday, March 8th, the Belleville Girls Basketball team finished its 2019-2020 season celebrating the season's many accomplishments. The beginning of the night saw Ella Campbell and Cecilia Grefsheim winning the Wisconsin Basketball Association 1st Team Award Certificate. This award is given to players that are proven to put the overall team goals ahead of their individual goals and always bring great attitude to each practice.

Next the team gave out awards for their Team Captains, which saw Erin Kittleson, Jenna Shrader, Sophia Grady, and Cecilia Grefsheim receiving this medal.

Then the Belleville Basketball Program awarded sophomore Mickey Stampfl the award for this season's Most Improved Player. Mickey saw all of her statistics greatly improved from last season. Some of the highlights were that she scored 21 points last year and improved to 160 points this year, including six 3-pointers. She also had 114 rebounds this year which was a huge improvement over the 20 rebounds she had last year. Mickey also improved on her 14 steals last year to see this number improve to 57 steals in the 2019-20 season. She was also one of the most important players on the team in helping break the press this season.

The team then moved forward to present the Coaches Award. This award is given to a Senior that has accomplished the most out of her four years of high school basketball. This year's Coaches Award was presented to Jenna Shrader. She finished her career with a total of 683 points, which is 15th in Belleville history. She finished 4th in Belleville history for both most 3-pointers in a single season, with 32 this season, and for an entire Varsity career with a total of 71. Jenna was a leader when it came to talking in the huddle and finished the season as the second highest scorer for the team.

Moving forward in the program, Coach Pharo handed out the Most Valuable Player Award which turned out to be a Co-MVP award. The first Most Valuable Award was given to sophomore Callie Smith, who led the team in rebounding this year with 276 rebounds, which is 3rd in the history of Belleville girls basketball for a single season. She finished conference play this season averaging a double-double, which included 10.4 ppg and 12.6 rpg in conference play. She also finished 2nd on the team with 54 steals, which was 13th best for a single season in Belleville's history.

The second Co-MVP was given to sophomore Ava Foley, who led the team in scoring this season with 293 points, which was 17th best for a season in school history. She also saw her two season point totals rise to 519 points. She scored 25 points against Wisconsin Heights, which tied her for 12th highest scoring game in Belleville girls basketball records. Ava was also our second leading rebounder, with 137 rebounds, 1st in assists with 62, and 3rd in steals with 53.

The program wrapped up with the announcement of which players were awarded All-Conference awards this season. The 2019-2020 Capital South All Conference players for Belleville girls basketball were Callie Smith, 2nd Team All-Conference; Ava Foley, 2nd Team All-Conference; and Jenna Shrader, Honorable Mention All-Conference.
