Green County K-9 Officer Ike retired from the Green County Sheriff's Dept. on March 18, 2020.

Green County K-9 Officer Ike retired from the Green County Sheriff's Office on March 18, 2020. K-9 Ike began his career with the Green County Sheriff's Office on September 15, 2012, when he joined his handler, Deputy Cody Kanable, on patrol.

During his almost eight-year career, Ike was deployed almost 700 times, resulting in almost 200 arrests, the seizure of over $40,000 in U.S. Currency, approximately $800,000 in illegal drugs and represented the agency in providing presentations to youth and community groups monthly.

Ike received multiple awards for his skills, as well as Awards for Valor in connection with locating and providing officer safety during the apprehension of a homicide suspect in 2015. Ike also was deployed in the apprehension of a homicide suspect in Green County in January 2019.

After Ike's last shift, he will be retiring to live with Deputy Kanable and his family. Deputy Kanable has made the best purchase of his life, and after 11:00 p.m. on March 18th, Ike became an unemployed member of the family, with exclusive rights to the couch and a full bowl of food.
