New Glarus Senior Robert Chenoweth Appointed to the U.S. Air Force Academy

New Glarus High School senior Robert Chenoweth has accepted an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) as a member of the Class of 2024. He will be joining a select group of our nation's finest young people as he takes this challenging and rewarding step toward becoming a professional Air Force officer.
Chenoweth has earned a rare opportunity to participate in one of the nation's finest officer training programs. Nearly 10,000 applications were received, and Chenoweth was one of 1,200 new cadets who will make up the Class of 2024.
The Air Force Academy, located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is an accredited four-year university. In selecting candidates, the Academy focuses on academics, athletics, leadership, and community service. Chenoweth plans to major in Aeronautical Engineering with hopes to become a pilot.
Nominations to the Air Force Academy are submitted from United States Representatives, Senators, or the Vice President. Chenoweth was nominated by United States Congressman Mark Pocan, of Wisconsin's 2nd district.
Chenoweth will graduate from New Glarus High School June 7, 2020, and will report to the Air Force Academy June 25, 2020.
