Virtual Town Hall to be held for New Glarus School Board Candidates
March 25, 2021
On Thursday, March 25, 2021, at 7:00 p.m., there will be a virtual town hall meeting for New Glarus School Board candidates. The meeting will last for 30 minutes, then there will be an approximately five minute break and it will continue on another Zoom meeting room. Organizer Josh Rabel noted that some candidates may not be able to attend this meeting, in order for each candidate to have their voice be heard there will be future Zoom meetings scheduled.
He said, “This is a new method for our candidates to hear from us directly. If a candidate is unable to attend please do not let that have an effect your decision on voting. This event was put together last minute and candidates, just as you and I, have other obligations on our calendar. Expecting them to be everything or everywhere for everyone is a ridiculous standard and would not be appreciated by you or I if we were running. Yes, each candidate has the Zoom invite and will have a chance to appear and be heard. I will try to record the meeting so you may listen in if unable to attend any town hall.”
Rabel said, “Each Q&A will go for a total of one hour. I will moderate and read questions from the comment section so each candidate will be able to answer. Each will have one minute to answer.”
This will allow each candidate to be heard and fair time for all to speak. With four candidates, sixty minutes and one minute for each question, they are hoping to have at least fifteen questions.
As this is meant to be a town hall Q&A for the community members to have their voices heard, you the people can ask the candidates the questions on your mind. Please recognize yelling or name calling will not help anyone during this town hall. Let’s be professional and treat each other with respect.
