Girls Track Team Wins Capitol South Dual Championship

On June 1st, the Sugar River Track Team competed at the Lake Mills double dual. The boys team won against Waterloo, 98-48, and the girls team also defeated Waterloo, 98-34.

“A big congratulations to the Lady Raiders for their recent Southern Conference Dual Championship this past week,” said Coach Willy Johnson. “Great performances and personal records were set during the meet. Athletes have been working hard and knowing what it means to work as a team. We have a ways to go before we can accomplish our goals, but with the efforts of the coaching staff and guiding the athletes, we will get there.”

Women’s Results

The 4x800M Relay team placed second, with a time of 11:18.30.

In the 100M Hurdles, Kyla Jerome placed third with a time of 19.10.

Herioli Fraire won the 100M Dash with a time of 13.74, while Morgan Bagley placed sixth and Olivia Wenger placed ninth.

Alora Spiegel won the 1600M run with a time of 5:55.87, while Tayler Yapp placed second with a time of 6>09.19 and Karley Michels placed fourth with a time of 6:47.60.

The girls 4x200M Relay team finished in second place with a time of 2:03.16.

In the 400M Dash, Dayna Karls finished second with a time of 1:03.27, while Ava Foley finished fifth with a time of 1:09.19 and Lexi Radl finished ninth.

The 4x100M Relay team won their event with a time of 56.53.

In the 800M Run, Dayna Karls finished third with a time of 2:46.99, while Alora Spiegel finished fourth with a time of 2:47.41 and Karley Michels finished fifth with a time of 2:58.39.

In the 200M Dash, Katie Bowers finished fifth with a time of 32.28, while Morgan Bagley finished sixth and Sofie Veeneman finished seventh.

Lucy Melvin won the 3200M Run with a time of 14:25.27 and Ruth Marty finished in second with a time of 14:28.04.

The 4x400M Relay team placed third with a time of 4:53.07.

In the High Jump, Katie Bowers finished in sixth place.

Kyla Jerome won the Pole Vault event with 9-03, while Morgan Bagely finished fourth with 6-00.

In the Long Jump, Herioli Fraire placed sixth, while Risandi Bartle finished eighth and Madeline Miller finished eleventh.

In the Triple Jump, Ava Foley finished third with 32-04, while Risandi Bartle finished seventh and Sofie Veeneman finished eighth.

In the Shot Put event, Keatan Zimmerman finished third with 29-04, while Mahkya Danz-Grass finished tenth. Zimmerman finished sixth in Discus, while Danz-Grass finished eighth.

Men’s Results

The 4x800M Relay team won the event, with a time of 9:38.64.

In the 110M Hurdles, Jack Erickson placed third with a time of 17.69, while Jake Fahey placed sixth.

In the 100M Dash, Jjay Wenger placed third with a time of 12.14, while Patrick Samon placed sixth and Gabe Nass placed eighth.

In the 1600M Run, Conor McCoy placed second with a time of 5:11.49, while Matthew Loshaw placed fourth with a time of 5:20.61 and Tanner Gardner placed seventh.

The 4x200M Relay team finished second with a time of 1:39.48.

In the 400M Dash, Conor McCoy finished second with a time of 55.31, while Carter Scholey finished fourth with a time of 58.60 and Carson Loshaw finished eighth.

In the 4x100M Relay, the Sugar River boys finished third with a time of 50.35.

In the 300M Hurdles, Gabe Nass finished fourth with a time of 49.12, while Isaak Tonn finished sixth.

Carter Scholey won the 800M Run with a time of 2:14.53, while Matthew Loshaw finished third with a time of 2:23.46 and Kaleb Welhouse finished fifth with a time of 2:41.34.

In the 200M Dash, Adrix DeVoe finished third with a time of 25.29, while DJ Donnell placed fourth with a time of 25.66 and Danny Judd finished in seventh.

Thomas Nelson won the 3200M Run with a time of 10:53.83, while Jordan Wilder finished second with a time of 12:37.16.

The 4x400M Relay team finished in fourth place with a time of 4:00.66.

In the High Jump, Alex Shrader finished third with 4-10, while Danny Judd placed fifth with 4-10.

In the Pole Vault, Will Gobel placed second with 6-06 and Lucas Douty finished third with 6-00.

In the Long Jump, Adrix DeVoe finished fifth with 16-10.25 and Jake Fahey took ninth place and DJ Donnell placed tenth.

In the Triple Jump, Jack Erickson placed third with 37-00.75, while Adrix DeVoe placed sixth.

In Shot Put, Andrew Remy placed seventh, while Patrick Samon placed tenth and Hayden Judd placed eleventh.

In the Discus event, Andrew Remy finished tenth, Carson Loshaw finished eleventh and Sutton Zimmerman finished twelfth.

The Raiders competed at the Deerfield Classic on June 4th, but results weren’t available at press time. They had a meet at Lake Mills on June 7th, and Regionals begin on June 14th at Prairie du Chien.
