Public Notice for Homecoming Weekend

The Monticello Police Department would like to invite everyone to attend the Monticello Homecoming festivities on July 9-11, 2021.

We hope everyone will take the time to enjoy this wonderful family festival. We would like to remind everyone that all alcoholic beverages must be consumed within the licensed establishments and permitted areas of the park. Those found to be consuming or possession of alcohol outside of those areas will be cited for the violation(s), with a forfeiture of $ 200.50 per offense.

The Municipal Parking Lot will be CLOSED for general parking, effective Sunday, July 4th, at 12:01 a.m. through Monday, July 11th, 2021, for the carnival set up and tear down.

Parking is limited and will be marked accordingly for enforcement. No Parking Zones are necessary to ensure safety of pedestrians and visitors for our Homecoming festival.

There will be Posted Temporary/No Parking Zones and enforcement of $25.00 per offense, and can be towed at the owner’s expense.

West Lake Avenue (CTH F), between Main Street and STH 69, will be temporarily closed during the fireworks display on Saturday evening, July 10, 2021, at 9:45 p.m. Rain Delay will be on Sunday night.

West North Avenue, between N. Kennedy Street and N. Monroe Street, in front of the swimming pool, will be closed temporarily on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the Children Pedal Tractor pulling, and for the Fire Department water fights.

North Monroe Street, from West North Avenue toward Gempeler’s Supermarket Alleyway, will be closed temporarily on Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., for the Motorcycle Pride Ride parking. No other vehicles will be allowed to park in this area during this temporary closing.

The Parade Route on Sunday, July 11, 2021, will be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. East Lake Avenue from Adams Road toward North Main Street and from Lake Avenue toward Coates Avenue, will be closed to all parking; it will reopen after the parade has cleared out. All parade units will line up at the far east side of East Lake Avenue (Industrial Park area).
