Raiders HTL Have Offensive Outburst

The Belleville Raiders Home Talent baseball team played visitor to Richland Center Sunday in the first game of the 2022 season. The Raiders, after winning the Western Section last year, got off on the right foot, winning with a score of 15-9.

Andrew Nimtz started the game pitching for the Raiders, going four innings and giving up three earned runs. Brandon Moldrem came in relief, lasting four innings, giving up one earned run. To close out the game in the 9th, Joey Mcnaught went one inning allowing no earned runs.

The Raiders jumped to an early lead, recording four runs between the 2nd and 3rd innings. Richland Center battled back and kept the game close at 7-7 until the 7th inning. The bats came alive in the 7th inning and the Raiders recorded eight runs in the last three innings. Everyone in the lineup recorded a hit with multiple hits by Matt Everson, Drew Haak, Joey Mcnaught and Derek Baumgartner.

The Raiders’ next game will be Sunday, May 22nd, where the Raiders travel to Mt. Horeb to take on Pine Bluff/Mt. Horeb. Game is slated for 1:00 p.m., at the High School. The first home game of the season will be Memorial Day, Monday, May 30th, at 1:00 p.m., at Community Park, against Argyle.

June 2nd at Shullsburg; June 5th at Verona; June 9th vs Pine Bluff/Mt. Horeb; June 12th at Shullsburg; June 16th vs Hollandale; June 18th vs Verona; June 19th vs Richland Center; June 23rd at Footville; June 26th at Dodgeville. Sunday games are played at 1:00 p.m., while Thursday games are played at 7:00 p.m.
