Dorothy S. Wild

Dorothy S. Wild (Bidlingmaier), age 97, left this earth to be with her Lord on September 1, 2022, at SSM Hospice Home, Monroe, WI, with her family by her side. Dorothy was born on January 11, 1925, in Green County on the family farm, the daughter of William and Lena (Thoman) Bidlingmaier.

She graduated from Monticello High School in 1943. Dorothy married Dallas Wild on September 28, 1945. She was a lifetime member of Washington Church having been baptized, confirmed, and married in her beloved church.

Dorothy and Dallas worked as a team on their family farm for 43 of their 74 years of marriage. She was honored as Cheese Days Queen in 1940. Dorothy lived a life of service to her church, singing in the choir for more than 60 years, teaching Sunday School for many years, as well as serving as the first woman President of the church. She served on most committees and was chairman of many. Dorothy and her friend, Marjorie Wasserstrass, started the youth fellowship program in 1965. They established a chili supper fundraiser using Dorothy's recipe. The chili supper is still held every February. Dorothy loved working with her flowers and gardening. She will be remembered for her unconditional love for her family, church family, friends, and her love for the Lord.

She is survived by her daughter, Dianne (Larry) Kundert; son, Dennis Wild; sister, Jean (Daryl) Kleckner; and brother-in-law, Herbert Baumgartner. She is further survived by grandchildren, Michelle (Fred) Kelley, Joe (Kim Gyland) Kundert, Brent (Kim) Kundert; great-grandchildren, Kyle (Elizabeth Sajdak) Kelley, Shaun Kelley, Dylan (Kayla Beyer); along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dallas; sisters, Lorene Durtschi, Evelyn Moritz, Shirley Anderson, Marion Baumgartner; brothers, Sylvan, Merlyn (in infancy), Nathan Bidlingmaier; and a great-grandson, Daniel Kundert.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at the Washington Reformation United Church of Christ, Monticello, with Reverend Kelly Volk officiating. Interment followed in the Washington Church Cemetery. Visitation was at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Dorothy's name for the Washington Church and the SSM Hospice Home.

The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family. Condolences may be shared at
