A Night at the Museum

Village of Belleville Parks & Recreation Survey

The Village of Belleville Public Works & Parks Committee is conducting a survey of park and recreational facilities as part of the Village’s efforts to update its Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (CORP).  This plan serves to guide the continual improvement of the Village’s parks, open spaces, bicycle and pedestrian facilities.  The CORP also maintains the Village’s eligibility for state and federal recreation grants.

Our ability to save lives through vaccination is stronger than ever. Take measles, for instance. Before the measles vaccine was developed, each year the disease caused 400 to 500 deaths, 48,000 hospitalizations, and 1,000 cases of encephalitis (brain swelling).

Dear Editor,
The Monticello Lions Club wishes to thank everyone who supported our successful Pancake Brunch on Sunday, March 18th, especially the people who bought tickets and attended. We also would like to thank the Boy Scouts and the Monticello Spanish Club for a job well done. Volunteer Appreciation Week is April 15-21, 2018

National Volunteer Appreciation week is an opportunity to recognize and thank volunteers who lend their time, talent, voice and support to causes they care about in their community. The ADRC is fortunate to have close to 100 volunteers providing services to others. Whether they are driving someone to the doctor, delivering a hot meal, teaching wellness classes, or befriending a senior at our Adult Day Center – each person makes a difference.

Wisconsin Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week is April 9-13

Governor Scott Walker has declared April 9-13, 2018, as Wisconsin’s Tornado & Severe Weather Awareness Week. Tanna McKeon, Director of Green County Emergency Management, urges schools, businesses, families, and individuals to take advantage of this time to test their emergency plans. The statewide tornado drills will be Thursday, April 12. A mock tornado watch will be issued at 1:00 p.m., followed by a mock tornado warning at 1:45 p.m. A mock tornado warning will also be conducted at 6:45 p.m., to give families and second shift workers a chance to test their emergency plans.
