<strong>True West</strong>, a play written by the late Sam Shepard and directed by Monroe Theatre Guild Director Nick Hartwig, is a hard hitting, emotionally charged dark comedy. Sam Shepard, best known for his acting career, was also a skilled, award winning playwright. Shepard’s plays often tell the story of families in conflict. Critics consider <i>True West</i> to be Shepard’s signature piece.

Members of the Green County 4-H Foods &amp; Nutrition project recently participated in the annual Foods Revue event on Saturday, March 9th, at the Green County Justice Center. Foods Revue is considered a Pre-Fair event of the Green County Fair and is judged by a licensed fair judge with ribbons being awarded to the youth.
Youth are divided into four levels based on grade and can bring one food item to be judged at the Foods Revue. Examples of project options this year were breakfast muffins, invent a snack, baked pasta, and homemade soup.

With March Madness in full swing, Sugar River Euchre players know it’s time for the League’s Spring Tournament. Thirty-two of them convened in New Glarus on the very night that the New Glarus boys won their state semi-final basketball game. I’m not sure if all the excitement in the air that night was due to the intense Euchre competition taking place at Kleeman’s, the arrival of the long-awaited beautiful spring-like weather or the local basketball team taking the court at state for the first time since 1932.
