Lafayette County Files Charges Against Quaglia and Murdock

Joseph A. Quaglia, rural Mount Horeb, made his initial appearance in Lafayette County Circuit Court on June 28th after being released on a $50,000 signature bond from the Lafayette County Jail on June 21st. The charges stem from incidents that occurred earlier in June.

Lafayette Co. Sheriff to Refer Charges In Burglary Case

On Thursday, June 17, 2021, at 5:52 a.m., the Lafayette County Emergency Communications Center received a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on Hill Street, in the Village of Blanchardville. A short time later, at 7:42 a.m., the communications center took a report of a vehicle that was submerged in Yellowstone Lake. While deputies and detectives were investigating both incidents, the communications center took a report that the Cork Down Saloon, on Lake Road in Fayette Township, had been burglarized during the overnight hours.

Sugar River Track Qualifies for State in Two Events

Members of the Sugar River Track Team competed in Whitewater on Thursday, June 17th, in the WIAA D2 Sectionals. The top four finishers in each event move on to the State meet in La Crosse on Friday.
“After a rain delay, athletes went out to complete their events. Unfortunately, the cards were not in their hands,” said Coach Willy Johnson. “Ava Foley finished 5th in the long jump while breaking her own school record this year in a jump of 17’ 1.5”. She missed out of advancing to the State meet by a mere 2.5 inches.”

We are excited for the return of Green County Dairy Days! It is an annual event, sponsored by the Green County Ag Chest, held during June Dairy Month. This year Dairy Days started June 18, with a two-day cattle show at the Green County Fairgrounds in Monroe, Wisconsin.
