ADRC's Transportation Program is Back on the Road

Join Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) transportation program on one of their many trips.
They have three handicap accessible vehicles and three trained drivers that are ready to take passengers where they want to go. They provide monthly trips to various locations for people to enjoy a day out, without the hassle of driving.
Starting July 1st, the new shuttle schedules will be as follows:
2nd and 4th Wednesday: Pickup in Belleville, New Glarus, Monticello to Monroe - $5.00
1st and 3rd Wednesday: Pickup in Albany, Brodhead, Juda to Monroe - $5.00

Family Promise of Green County to Celebrate 10th Anniversary

Family Promise of Green County celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year. The Green County affiliate was founded in November 2011, and since that time it has served over 300 families, a total of over 700 people, half of which have been children. The Family Promise three-tiered model seeks to prevent families from becoming homeless, provide shelter to those who need it, and empower families to independence through stabilization.

Green County Dairy Days

We are excited for the return of Green County Dairy Days! It is an annual event, sponsored by the Green County Ag Chest, held during June Dairy Month. This year Dairy Days starts June 18, with a two-day cattle show at the Green County Fairgrounds in Monroe, Wisconsin. Join us as youth from all over southern Wisconsin wear their white and proudly lead their cattle around the arena.

Town of Primrose Crash

On Tuesday, June 8th, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Dane County Sheriff's deputies responded to an SUV vs farm sprayer crash at CTH U and Ridge Drive, in the Town of Primrose. The driver of the SUV, Emily C. Pomplun, age 27, pulled out in front of an on-coming farm sprayer.
The farm sprayer came to rest on top of the SUV, trapping the driver inside. Ms. Pomplun had to be extricated and was transported by MedFlight to UW Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

New Glarus Baseball Falls to Waterloo in Round One of Regional Competition

On Monday, June 7th, the New Glarus baseball team played at Waterloo and won, 9-7.
The Knights kicked off the first inning with 3 runs, adding 2 more in the third, 1 in the fourth and 3 in the sixth. Waterloo attempted to stage a comeback in the bottom of the seventh, but fell short by 2 runs.
Peyton Mendleski was 3x3 at bat with 2 runs and 2 RBI, while Cooper Dreyfus was 3x4 with 2 runs and 3 RBI and Leyton Mihlbauer was 2x5 with 2 runs and 1 RBI. Eli Zimmerman scored 2 runs and Easton Dreyfus scored 1.

Hornets Sting Wildcats, Ending Their Season

June 9th became the last day of the Wildcats softball team’s season. They traveled to Richland Center for a Regional game and lost, 1-11.
“We made the almost 2-hour trip on a very hot day, winding our way along a detour,” said Coach Connie Wunschel. “Didn’t get much warm up before the game started, but the pregame looked alright.”
The Wildcats struck first, and only once. In the first inning, Micky Stampfl walked at bat, stole second base and moved to third on an overthrow from Richland Center’s catcher. Stampfl scored on CC Grefsheim’s base hit.

Monticello/New Glarus Softball Wraps up Season

On June 7th, the Monticello/New Glarus softball team played Argyle and lost, 0-11.
Alexa Siegenthaler was the only player to get a hit for M/NG.
Harley Disch pitched all six innings striking out 4, but giving up 11 runs on 15 hits.
On June 9th, M/NG played at #7 seeded Viroqua/Youth Initiative in round one of the WIAA Division 3 Regional tournament. The final score was M/NG 2, V/YA 12.
Megan Peterson was 2x2 at bat, while Harley Disch and Jaden Zuber were both 1x2 and each scored a run.

Family Paddling Nights in Belleville Community Park

The Village of Belleville’s Economic Development Commission has partnered with Sugar River Outfitters to host Family Paddling Nights in Community Park.
The Economic Development Commission encourages both participants and spectators to stroll downtown before or after the event. For those unfamiliar with the area, there is a footbridge from Community Park to downtown. It crosses over the Sugar River, and leads visitors to shops, restaurants and taverns.
