Green County Master Gardeners To Tour Barham Gardens-Aronia Berry Farm

Grants Available from the Monticello Excellence in Education Fund

The Monticello Excellence in Education (EIE) Fund is now accepting grant applications. Projects that serve the Monticello School District area are eligible. Requests from individuals are not eligible.
The Monticello EIE Fund looks for projects or programs that propose creative and innovative solutions to current school needs. Projects that are not included in the school budget are preferred.
The grant deadline is Thursday, October 15, 2015.

Monticello Fall Cleanup to be Held

All items for Monticello’s Fall Clean Up must be separated/sorted and curbside by 7:00 a.m., Monday, October 19th.
All debris, excluding brush, must be in an area not larger than four feet wide by ten feet long by four feet high.
Debris accepted are furniture and miscellaneous junk, paint cans (empty or open with paint dried), empty burn barrels, metal and appliances and all small loose articles, which must be placed in an open, disposable container.

Monticello Area Historical Society Meeting

The Monticello Area Historical Society general meeting will be on Thursday, September 24th, at 7:00 p.m., at Zwingli United Church located on East Lake Ave, Monticello. 
The program will be the building and history of Universalist Church, Monroe.  Presenting this program will be Matt Figi of Monroe.

Open House Meetings to Discuss Sugar River Feasibility Study

The draft master plan for 12 wildlife, fishery, natural areas and park properties, as well as 14 smaller habitat areas in the Sugar River Planning Group, is now available for public review and comment through October 8, 2015.
This planning group is located in south central Dane County, eastern Green County and western Rock County. The draft plan contains recommendations from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for habitat and recreation goals and objectives for the following properties:

Professional Development at Belleville Schools

If you look at the school calendar, you will see that twice a month our students have early release. This gives the students a nice break from their day-to-day learning and offers staff an opportunity to increase their learning. Professional development allows our staff to discover, engage, and achieve just like our students.

Groundbreaking Ceremony Held at New Francois Ford Location

Francois Ford held a groundbreaking ceremony on Highway PB, just past the Belleville Medical Center on Friday, Sept. 18. Members of the community and those involved with the project were there.

First Belleville Bear Cub Meeting of the Year

The first Belleville Bear Cub meeting of the year was held at Camp Mohawk in Belleville recently. Cub Scouts are looking at their new Bear manual and working on their whittling achievement.

2015 Homecoming Parade Information

The annual Belleville Homecoming parade will be held on Friday, September 25.  Parade line-up will begin at 2:15 p.m., with the parade rolling down Main Street beginning at 2:30 p.m. 
Groups interested in having a float or vehicle in the parade need to complete an application form to participate.  The application forms can be picked up in the Belleville High School office.  Once your application is received and the line-up is set, you will receive an email notifying you of your numbered position in the parade and a map of the line-up positions.

St. Francis to Hold Annual Dinner

St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Belleville, is hosting its annual church dinner on Sunday, October 4, 2015, in the St. Mary of Lourdes Hall located at 227 Frederick Street.
Carry out orders and drive through pick up will be available at the St. Francis of Assisi Church located at 338 S. Harrison Street.
The dinner features Roast Pork, Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole, Applesauce, Coleslaw, Dinner Rolls and Homemade Pies and will be served family style. Serving time is from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
