Cops N' Bobbers Event

Looking for something fun to do with your children? The Belleville Police Department and Wisconsin DNR will be holding a Cops N’ Bobbers event on Saturday, June 11, 2016, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., at the Belleville Community Park, Shelter 1, 10 Bross Circle.
Children ages 4th grade through 8th grade can participate in Fishing with a Buddy, and children 4th grade and younger can participate in the Fish Pond.
Lunch will be provided by UW Health Belleville Family Medicine.

Bike Rodeo Scheduled for June 4th

The Belleville Police Department is hosting a Bike Rodeo at the Belleville Intermediate School on Saturday, June 4, 2016, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  It is for children in grades 4K through 4th grade. 
Activities will include safety courses to ride through, free professional bike inspections, proper helmet fit checks and a visit from the police horses. 
Permission slips and helmets are required. There will be a limited amount of helmets available for those in need of one.

2016-2017 Belleville Dairy Queen Candidate Nikayla Maurer

Hi, my name is Nikayla Maurer. My parents are Susan and Scott Maurer. I'm running to be the 2016-2017 Belleville Dairy Queen candidate.
I'm currently a sophomore at Belleville High School, I'm in 4-H and FFA. I also enjoy cheering at football games and competing at cheer competitions. I enjoy spending my spare time playing volleyball, working with my show animals, camping, or hanging out with friends.

2016-2017 Belleville Dairy Queen Candidate Clarice Loeffelholz

Hello! My name is Clarice Loeffelholz. I am a seventeen-year-old junior at Belleville High School. I am a 2016-2017 Belleville Dairy Queen Candidate. My parents are Mary and Linus Loeffelholz. I would enjoy the honor of being Belleville's Dairy Queen because I would love to help promote agriculture in any way possible in Green County. I want to help make a difference in something that I know and love. I've learned to love agriculture, mainly from participating in FFA events and contests. That made me want to get involved and showed me how much fun it is.

Dane County Executive Joe Parisi Opens New Improved Beach and Water Access

Dane County Executive Joe Parisi recently celebrated the grand opening of the improved beach and lake at the Mendota County Park in time for Memorial Day weekend. They highlighted the new pilot “Clean Beach Corridor” which sets up a protected, clean pool of water within a lake. A barrier is established in the lake adjacent to a beach while a treatment system treats and circulates the water within that corridor, reducing the muck and bacteria that results in beach closures when the weather warms in summer. The project cost was $80,000.

Volunteers Needed for Green County Dairy Days Queen's Brunch

The brunch will be held on the morning of June 25th. I am still looking for some high school kids to offer some help to help serve, do dishes, be runners to obtain more food, move things around, set tables, etc. Your help could benefit you as you can use this event to give you points for next school year’s total as it will be happening during the summer.

Plans Continue for the 2016 Green County Dairy Days in Belleville

Belleville Dairy Days organizers are busy preparing to host Green County Dairy Days, sponsored by the Green County Ag Chest.
“New this year is the Dairy Days Dash 5K Run and Walk,” said Tami Woller, one of the Dairy Days organizers. “Registration starts at 7:00 a.m., and the race will start at 8:00 a.m. at the top of the footbridge in Community Park, and follow the Belleville Triathlon route.”

Belleville Fire Department Under New Leadership

The Belleville Fire Department has elected new leadership with the retirement of Ron Babler, after 44 years of service with the Department.
Brian Hollis has been elected Chief, and began his new role in February under dual Chiefs, and as of Monday night, May 23, he takes on sole leadership.

Belleville Middle School Celebrates Red Nose Day

Belleville Middle School students took part in Red Nose Day, a campaign dedicated to helping children and having fun. Proceeds benefit children and young people in the US and some of the poorest communities in the world. Belleville students raised over $200 in the fundraiser.

Big Money in Politics: United to Amend Meeting with the New Glarus Village Board

At 7:00 p.m., on Tuesday, June 7, Green County United to Amend will attend a regular meeting of the New Glarus Village Board. The meeting will take place in the Village Hall, 319 2nd Street, New Glarus. At that meeting we will ask the Board to place a referendum on the November ballot, asking Village residents to weigh in on money in politics. We will propose that the ballot question be:
“Shall the Village of New Glarus, Wisconsin, adopt the following resolution?
