Zweifel Presented With Quilt of Valor

On March 14, Chief Warrant Officer 4 Alen J. Zweifel was presented with a Quilt of Valor at a ceremony held in the New Glarus Home Chapel. The ceremony was attended by friends and family and made extra special by the fact that Zweifel's grandfather, Alfred Ufken, was able to attend. Zweifel had flown home from Japan for a family visit.

Pancake Breakfast Well Attended

The Monticello Lions Club and the Monticello Track Team wish to thank everyone who supported us by attending our pancake breakfast on March 19th.  Everyone was treated to fluffy pancakes, tasty sausage links, applesauce and cheese - including everyone's favorite, Limburger. The Monticello Lions and the Monticello Track team were there to serve, and they made sure that there was no chance that you left hungry.

Monticello Schools Buddy Bench and Anti-Bullying Presentation

On Tuesday, April 11, at 1:00 p.m., the Monticello PTO is proud to welcome Tom Pease, a children's performer, for an Elementary School assembly focusing on anti-bullying. Mr. Pease performs all over the Midwest teaching children about self-esteem, bullying, and cultural diversity. His programs are highly entertaining and very participatory, including lots of movement and music. He will also be a part of the dedication of our school's Buddy Bench, a recent addition to the school playground.

MHS Post Prom 2017

The Monticello High School Post Prom Planning Committee is in the process of planning the 2017 Post Prom Party. This year the party, to be held following the Junior Prom on Saturday, April 29, 2017, will be held at the Monticello High School.

Zwingli Kalberwurst Supper

The annual Kalberwurst Supper will be held at Zwingli United Church of Christ, 416 E. Lake Avenue, on Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 4:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
The menu, served family style, includes Kalberwurst, Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Copper Penny Carrots, Applesauce, Swiss Bread, Cookies and Bars. Carry outs are available. Adult tickets are $13.00; children 5-10 years old, $6.00; and children 4 and under eat free.

Monticello Easter Egg Hunt

The Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at the Monticello Village Park on Saturday, April 15, 2017, beginning at 10:30 a.m. sharp. Don’t be late or you’ll miss it!!
The youngest age group is 0-2 years and the oldest age group is fourth grade. The Easter Bunny will be present to greet the children and will also be available for photos. 
We suggest that the children wear appropriate footwear and dress accordingly.  If by chance it is raining, the hunt will be inside the school.  Enter through the playground doors into the old gym.  Hope you can join us!

Washington Reformation Church Palm Sunday Brunch

Sponsored by the confirmation class, the Washington Reformation Palm Sunday Brunch will take place immediately following the worship service on Sunday, April 9, 2017.
The menu includes Scrambled Eggs, Ham, Cheesy Hash Browns, Pancakes, Fruit, Cinnamon Rolls, Milk, Coffee and Juice, for a free-will offering.
Washington Reformation United Church of Christ is located at N6026 Church Road, Monticello, just west of the village.
