Albion Swords and the New Glarus Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to brighten 2nd Street! In the spring of 2020, the east wall of the Albion Swords building, at 421 2nd Street, where the New Glarus Foods logo is currently located, will be painted with a colorful mural to enliven the street and increase visitor foot traffic.

Customers at The Morning Mug on Saturday, December 14, 2019, were treated to some great music when the Green County Piano Teachers sponsored a Piano Play-A-Thon from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

In honor of Respect Life Month, the students of St. Victor School in Monroe held a Baby Bottle Campaign to benefit the Care Net Pregnancy Center of Green County.
Each student took a baby bottle home and asked family and friends to put their spare change in their bottle during Respect Life Month. At the end of the month, the baby bottles were returned to the school and then the Pregnancy Center.

Diane K. Blumer, age 54, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, December 13, 2019, at her home. She was born on March 3, 1965, the daughter of Richard and Rose (Hoffman) Laufenberg.
Diane graduated from Oregon High School and attended MATC. On October 8, 1988, she was united in marriage to David Blumer at St. John's Lutheran Church in Oregon. Diane had worked at WPS and then later the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents and the UW Department of Psychology. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mount Horeb.
