New Glarus Vision Offers Scholarship

New Glarus Vision is offering, for a third year, a $500 scholarship to a graduating New Glarus senior who is either pursuing an education in the trades and/or someone with plans to start a small business in New Glarus area.

Fundraiser for the Chalet of the Golden Fleece

G.L. Adi, a volunteer with the Chalet of the Golden Fleece, is holding a fundraiser for the museum.
“It is a place full of the rich history of this great town, but unfortunately, it has hit hard times because of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a Star Project for my school’s FCCLA club, I am holding a fundraiser for the Chalet. My goal is to raise $500.00 to donate to the Friends of the Chalet since they were unable to host their Wine Walk in 2020,” explains G.L.

Glarner Lodge Receives COVID-19 Vaccine

Last week all residents of Glarner Lodge were vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine, as well as 90% of the staff.
Vicky Thelen, Glarner Lodge RN Administrator (pictured getting her shot), noted that the Glarner Lodge staff and residents have been 100% free of COVID-19 thus far.
Staff are rapid tested weekly and the infection control measures are working, through the strong dedication of staff, families and the residents themselves.
The vaccines were provided through Monroe Hometown Pharmacy West by Michael Kuckes, PharmD. (Pharmacist).

NGPD Offering Surplus Office Supplies to Community

Finally, after four months of construction, the New Glarus Police Department has been able to transition into our newly remodeled police station. As a result of this, we have some surplus office equipment that was left over from our old office. We would like to extend an invitation to the community to take (free of charge) whatever they could reuse of this equipment.

Monticello Child Development Days

For: Any child 3-5 years of age, including children entering 4K and/or Kindergarten in September 2021. If your child attended a previous screening it is not necessary to attend unless you feel the need to do so.
Dates: Thursday, February 11th, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Friday, February 12th, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Place: Monticello Elementary School in the 4K Classroom

Monticello Music Department Acquires Ukuleles

The Monticello Music Department would like to thank the EIE Grant committee for providing the funds to purchase 15 ukuleles. We would also like to thank Marvin Becker for constructing the shelf to hold the ukuleles!

<strong>Chickens must be pre-ordered by Friday, January 29, 2021.</strong> Cost is $7.00 per each half chicken (no dinner-just chicken).
Order your half chickens in advance at Gempeler's Market, Boar's Nest, Eagle Pass, Shawnas, M&M Café, Main Street Salon, or Kubly Tire &amp; Service Station.
Pay and pick up your order at the octagon shelter area between 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., on Sunday, January 31st. Call Carol Strause, and leave a message, at (608) 293-4994 for deliveries or if you are unable to sign up at a local business.

It IS Rocket Science!

In Mr. Bussey's freshman Physical Science class, students built and launched rockets last week during their physics unit! Students applied the three Laws of Newton to the rocket launch and collected data to find the height, as well as the ascending speed of the rockets.
