DENNIS H. PAULI

Dennis H. Pauli, age 84, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021. He was born October 20, 1936, in New Glarus, WI, to the late Henry W. and Phyllis (Freitag) Pauli.
Dennis graduated from New Glarus High School in 1954, and enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed in the Philippines. After his return home from active duty, he enrolled in Wisconsin State College and Institute of Technology at Platteville, where he later earned his degree in Civil Engineering.

Prepare for Summer Heat

Summer is almost upon us and extreme heat days are not far behind. The Department of Health Services is encouraging residents to be aware of the signs and symptoms of heat-related illness and to take steps to prevent getting sick.
In 2020, 689 people went to the emergency department, 67 people were hospitalized, and seven people died in Wisconsin due to heat-related causes. Emergency department visits were highest among younger populations aged 15-34, while hospitalizations were most frequent among those aged 65 and older.

New Glarus High School Class of 2021 Graduation

On Sunday, June 6, 2021, the New Glarus School District held a Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2021. The ceremony was held at the Football Stadium. The New Glarus Class of 2021 had five Co-Valedictorians: Benjamin C. Copeland, Desmond H. Delforge, Alexa L. Thayer, Emily Inez Trumble, and Taylor Jo Venden. Belleville High School Class of 2021 Graduation

The Graduation Ceremony for the Belleville School District Class of 2021 was held in the Sports Complex on Sunday, June 6, 2021. The Class of 2021 had five Valedictorians, Emma Anson, Roxana Grunenwald, Jacob Kean, Elise Medenwald, and Raina Nicholson. World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

Tuesday, June 15, 2021, is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. On and around this day, communities in the USA and all over the world will sponsor events to highlight solutions to this systemic social challenge. The Green County Elder Abuse Prevention (EAP) I-Team proudly sponsors a coloring page contest for local 5th, 6th, and/or 7th graders in the county to participate in this national conversation, as well as a T-shirt design contest through the Monroe High School.

Memorial Day 2021

Monday, May 31, 2021, was Memorial Day, when as a nation we paused to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives for our country. Around the area a number of programs were held in honor of those men and women. In New Glarus, a parade and program at Veterans Park was held.

Belleville Elementary Students Visit the Library

All 4K-6th grade classrooms visited the new Belleville Public Library for a tour. Students checked out books and got a library card if they didn't have one. Children's Librarian Michelle Veeneman told them about the fun activities and prizes that will be part of our Tales and Tails summer reading program.

M/NG Softball Loses at Argyle and Pec

Monticello/New Glarus softball played at Argyle on May 24th. Their single run was scored in the third inning. They lost the game, 1-5.
Kenna Pfeuti was 2x1 at bat with 1 run scored, while Jaden Zuber was 3x2 at bat and Megan Peterson was 1x1 at bat.
Harley Disch pitched all 6 innings, striking out 3 but giving up 5 runs on 7 hits.
On May 25th, M/NG played at Pecatonica. Pec took an early lead and M/NG couldn’t catch up. The final score was Pecatonica 10, Monticello/New Glarus 2.
