Go Wild System Implementation Continues

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ new Go Wild system is now processing registrations for boats, recreational vehicles and snowmobiles and issuing temporary operating receipts. Customers who submitted payment by mail will be provided temporary operating receipts within the next two weeks.

Girls Softball Skill Assessments Scheduled

On Sunday, April 17, the Verona Area Girls Softball Association (VAGSA) will be hosting a Skill Assessments from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at VAHS Main Gym. Athletes will be separated by age into two-hour sessions. Girls interested in playing fast pitch softball through VAGSA this summer are invited to attend.

Lady Wildcats Lose to Orioles

Belleville’s softball team played at Argyle on April 4th. The Wildcats ended up losing to the Orioles, 14-4 in five innings.
Pitching all five innings for the Wildcats was sophomore Cassidy Heller. Heller faced 30 batters, struck out six, walked one and gave up 15 hits. “A lot of those hits came on first pitches, so we’re going to have to work on ball placement,” stated Coach Connie Wunschel. Four of Heller’s strikeouts were to the first two batters.
“Started off with a bang and dried up from there,” said Wunschel.

Lady Knights Win over Lake Mills, Lose to Black Hawk and Lakeside Lutheran

On Monday, April 4th, the New Glarus girls softball team hosted Black Hawk. They lost a hard-fought, high scoring game, 15-12.
By the end of the first inning, Black Hawk had scored five runs. New Glarus player Ashley Judd had an RBI single, sending Madison Perkins home.
In the fourth inning, Black Hawk had four more players cross home plate. New Glarus managed three runs in the fourth.

Ford to Compete at Xcel Meet

New Glarus High School Senior, Jeneva Ford, is to compete at the Xcel Gymnastics Regional Meet in St. Paul, MN.
She is a member of the Xcel Gold Team with Gymfinity Gymnastics in Fitchburg, WI, where she also is a team coach for Xcel Bronze. Jeneva qualified for Regionals at the State competition, where she won first place on Uneven Bars. Good Luck Jeneva.
