<strong>Motorists</strong>
Reduce any distractions inside your car, such as talking on the phone or eating, so you can concentrate on the road and your surroundings.
Slow down and be especially alert in residential areas.  Children may unexpectedly dart out in the street or from between parked cars.
Watch for children walking on roadways, medians and curbs.  In dark costumes, they will be harder to see at night.
Turn on your headlights to make yourself more visible – even in the daylight.

On Halloween, the New Glarus Area EMS will have flashlights, donated by Rayovac, to hand out to the first 300 kids who stop by the station Trick-or-Treating.
The New Glarus Police Department will once again be set up in various spots around the village handing out glow necklaces to Trick-or-Treaters.

On Sunday, October 25th, the Badger State Archeological Society presented its 32nd Annual Native American Indian Artifact Show in the Rehmstedt Gym in Monticello.
The show, which was started by Ralph Hammerly with only five tables, has grown to over 80 tables of artifacts on display or for sale. The variety of items included points, stone, bone, copper artifacts, Eskimo items, prints, books, pottery, jewelry, rugs and a whole lot more. The show itself was a history lesson, and there were a number of experts on hand to identify artifacts.

Montesian Garden members held their final 2015 meeting and have completed 18 seasons of planting and caring for the various plots.  Each plot is signed with the donor or caretakers names, so if you have enjoyed walking and looking through the Gardens take a moment and give a word of praise and encouragement to them for all their hard work.  John Beckwith trims and cuts down damaged trees as well as trims around all the beds where the mowers can’t go.  The watering system is kept running by Ed Koca.  The Village employees do a good job mowing the grass.  Harold Babler keeps an eye on day-to-
