March County Deer Advisory Council Meetings

County Deer Advisory Councils in all Wisconsin counties started meeting on March 14 to review deer herd information and develop preliminary recommendations regarding antlerless harvest quotas, antlerless permit levels and other season options for the 2016 deer hunting season.
This year, councils will have the option to offer antlerless-only seasons, provide metro subunit-specific permits, and restrict junior antlerless permit use in buck-only counties. Each CDAC meeting is open to the public - a meeting schedule is available at dnr.wi.gov, keyword “CDAC.”

Avalanche PeeWee A Team Wraps Up Season

The Avalanche PeeWee A hockey team traveled to Baldwin for the PeeWee 3A State Tournament March 12-13. They took on Somerset in the first game.
The Avalanche dominated the entire game, easily defeating Somerset, 8-2. Scoring were Hayden Roth (4), Tessa Janecke (hat trick), and Roman Bauer. Earning assists were Alvin Buholzer, Hayden Roth, Anna Malone, Alyssa Knauf (2), and Tessa Janecke. The Avalanche outshot Somerset 42-16.

Cheese Days Chase Registration Open

Mark Your Calendars! The 2016 Cheese Days Chase in Monroe, Wisconsin, will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016, and is sponsored by Klondike Cheese Company.
We will once again have the Kids Chase before the 5K and 10K runs. The kids race (divided into two age groups) is sponsored by the Monroe Clinic.

Capitol Conference Announces Boys Basketball All Conference & Player of the Year

The Capitol Conference is proud to announce their 2015/16 South Division Boys All Conference, Honorable Mention, and Player of the Year Selections.
Gavin Binger, a senior at New Glarus High School, has been named a 1st Team All Conference Selection. Other 1st Team All Conference Selections include Brandon Neuberger and Adam Wehking of Marshall; Wyatt Gallitz of Waterloo; and JT Parish of Cambridge. Binger and Gallitz were unanimous selections.

Puppy Up and Artful Gourmet Partner for Wine Tasting

Members from the Puppy Up Madison team are visiting Artful Gourmet, along with some pretty cute pups, for a fun afternoon of wine tasting and appetizers from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., on March 19, 2016. Team members will be available to answer any questions and take registrations for their upcoming fundraising walk on May 1, 2016. This is a great opportunity to learn all about the organization and the efforts that are being made to eliminate cancer in people and their pets in a relaxing environment while sampling wine and enjoying delicious refreshments.
