New Glarus Area EMS Open House

The New Glarus Area EMS Open House will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016, from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., at the EMS building located at 401 3rd Street.
There will be kids games by Small World Daycare, face painting and car seat install/information. You can meet your EMTs, and also learn how to become a part of their team. Tour the station and the ambulances. Shirts will be available for purchase.

NGPL Capital Campaign Event at Fat Cat

On May 1st, Fat Cat Coffee Works will host the next special event with the library to help with awareness of the library building project. Plans and project advocates will be present, and Fat Cat Coffee Works has generously agreed to donate a percentage of the sales to the New Glarus Public Library Building Project.
Stop by Fat Cat on Sunday, May 1st, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., for a cup of coffee, a delicious meal and a piece of scrumptious pie and show your support for a new library for all!

The Piano Students of Ms. Carolyn Hilliard presented their annual spring recital at Zwingli Church.
Seniors honored with a flower were Reagan Andersen and Jeneva Ford.

Monticello Dairy Queen Information

The Green County Ag Chest invites area girls to consider being a candidate for the Monticello Dairy Queen. To be eligible, you must be a sophomore, junior or senior for the upcoming school year at Monticello High School. The Monticello Dairy Queen is one of 11 queens that represent their community, Green County, and Wisconsin in the promotion of dairy products, resources, industries, tourism and people; especially the youth and youth organizations.

Construction Update

Construction is still ahead of schedule. Water mains will be replaced up to Oak Ridge Avenue this week. Storm sewer north of West Coates on North Monroe Street has been started.

Monticello FFA Banquet Highlights Award Recipients

On April 7, 2016, the Monticello FFA held their annual FFA Banquet at Rhemstedt Gymnasium in order to recognize FFA members and supporters for their recent accomplishments over this past year.
Special recognition for the evening included Cory Bauman presenting a new award, the Daniel Jay Karlen Memorial Leadership Award. This prestigious honor for top leadership in FFA was given to Emilie Gietzel, past FFA President, for her strong commitment and dedication to FFA.

Registration is open online for swimming lessons and pool passes in Monticello. To register online, please visit http://vi.monticello.wi.us/departmentservices/park-recreation/pool-recre.... Service fees do apply with online registration. Payment can be made by credit or debit card. Passes may also be purchased at the Village Hall during regular business hours. Second Annual Cabaret Dinner Concert

Plan on attending the second annual Cabaret Dinner Concert in the Rehmstedt Gym at Monticello Schools, 334. S. Main Street, on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 6:00 p.m.
The dinner is a fundraiser to support the Monticello Music Parents organization. This organization helps fund different music events in Monticello Schools. They also offer a scholarship to graduating seniors. There will also be a silent auction fundraiser.
Dinner is spaghetti, from Pizza Hut.

Monticello Schools Community Day of Service

On Friday, April 29, students and staff at Monticello Schools will be working throughout the community doing service projects for the first annual Community Day of Service. 
Activities planned will include cleaning up in the park and lake area, various street and road clean-ups, helping at Green Cares Food Pantry, painting projects on school grounds, cleaning school buses, and helping citizens in the community with projects. It will be a busy, rewarding day for all involved.

Highland Cemetery Clean Up in Monticello

All decorations, flowers, shepherd hooks and urns must be removed from the cemetery during the clean up period from May 1st through May 15th. Individuals wishing to retain specific items must remove them prior to the May 1st start of the clean up.
