The New Glarus Village Board met for their regular meeting on June 6, 2017. Trustee Peg Kruse was absent.
The board approved a resolution hiring Justin Hutter as the new police offer. Police Chief Burt Boldebuck welcomed Hutter and Village Administrator Bryan Gadow administered the oath of office.

Looking for something fun to do with your children? The New Glarus FFA Alumni and Wisconsin DNR will be holding its First Annual <strong>F</strong>ree<strong> F</strong>ishing <strong>A</strong>dventure on Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 9:00 a.m.- Noon, at Hoesly Pond, at the intersection of Hwy 69 and Hwy W.
Children of all ages can participate in Fishing With a Parent. Bring your own gear, some gear will be available to use and bait will be provided.
Lunch will be provided by New Glarus FFA Alumni.

The Monticello Police Department would like to invite everyone to attend the Monticello Homecoming Festivities on July 6 – 9, 2017.  We hope everyone would take the time to enjoy this wonderful family festival.
<strong>We would like to remind everyone that all alcoholic beverages must be consumed within the licensed establishments and permitted areas of the park. Those found to be consuming or possession of alcohol outside of those areas will be cited for the violation(s), forfeiture of $200.50 per offense.</strong>

The Belleville Police Department and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources joined together to put on “Cops N’ Bobbers.” The event was held on June 10th, with more than 120 people in attendance at the Belleville Community Park.
The event was for children Pre K – 8th Grade. The children fished with buddies while the smaller children fished from the “fish pond” and colored. The children kept the Wardens very busy with measuring their catches. We had a fishing contest for the biggest and smallest fish. The winners received poles and tackle boxes.
