New Glarus Schools Receive Donations from Businesses, Organizations and Individuals

Pictured is Paul Fredrickson with New Glarus Elementary School Principal Laura Eicher and some of the toys donated at Mosher and Associates. The school wanted to thank all of the individuals, organizations and businesses who donated toys and money to help make local children's Christmases Merry.

New Glarus Community Blood Drive

Many people want to give back to the community but may not have a lot of time to volunteer. In only about an hour, volunteer blood donors can help save lives and feel instant gratification.
The community is invited to give back and help save lives by donating blood on Friday, December 29th, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the New Glarus Bible Church, 207 6th Street, New Glarus.

Monticello Foundation Awards Scholarships

The board of directors of The Monticello Foundation, Inc. met November 14 and voted to award seventeen scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each to Monticello grads currently in college. Congratulations to these deserving students: Jordyn Kubly, Lauren Schilder, Jordan Garrison, Emily Koch, Logan Marty, Lucas Marty, Mackenzie Zanow, Clare Gietzel, Samantha DeVoe, Alex Henning, Dylan Beckwith, Alyssah Kubly, Kallista Baebler, Ashley Risley, Christian Wahl, John Zuber and Courtney Leuzinger.

Monticello PTO Annual Euchre Tournament

The Monticello PTO is holding their 3rd Annual Euchre Tournament on Friday, January 19, 2018, at the Edelweiss Country Club in New Glarus. Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the tournament starting at 7:00 p.m. There will also be a silent auction of many great items that have been generously donated from area businesses.

Students' Art to be on Display in State Representative Pope's Office at the Capitol

On Monday, December 11, 2017, State Representative Sondy Pope met with students in Monticello to pick up artwork for display in her Capitol office.
Rep. Pope says, ^Art fosters creativity and expression in our children and is an essential piece of a well-rounded education. It is important that we nurture these qualities.  Thank you to these talented students and their teachers for their hard work.^"

Monticello Sports Boosters 2018 Alumni Tournament

The 2018 Monticello Sports Boosters Alumni Tournament will take place on Saturday, January 6, 2018, and begins at 10:00 a.m. in the Monticello Schools gyms. The entry fee is $75 per team, which guarantees you two games. A concession stand will be available.

Belleville Jazz Ensemble and Vocal Jazz Holiday Tour

The Belleville Jazz Ensemble and Vocal Jazz groups will be performing a Holiday Tour on Thursday, December 21, 2017.
Performances will take place at the Dane County Regional Airport at 9:45 a.m., followed by a performance at the Sauk Gardens Retirement Community at 12:30 p.m., and they will entertain at the Belleville Senior Center at 2:00 p.m.

Belleville Teams Compete in Science Olympiad

On December 2nd, three Belleville High School Science Olympiad teams, with a total of 40 students, competed in Boyceville's 11th Annual Science Olympiad Invite. Overall, students from all three teams earned top six medals in 25 events and the white team placed 2nd overall out of 27 schools in their division.

Whether we like it or not, winter arrives each year! Will it be mild or will it be wild? Who knows? But we need to update you on procedures to follow when inclement weather is upon us!
We make our decisions regarding closings based upon what we feel is best for our many volunteers whom we gratefully depend on to make our nutrition programs work.
Any decision to close meal sites due to inclement weather will be announced on WEKZ Radio (1260 AM) or WBGR (93.7 FM) no later than 7:00 a.m.
