Lady Ponies Win Over Barneveld, Albany, Lose to Blackhawk

On September 21st, the Monticello Ponies volleyball team played at Barneveld and won in four, 25-14; 18-25; 25-16; 25-18.
Hannah Clark had 6 kills and 3 blocks, while Ellie Gustafson had 26 kills and 9 digs. Mackie Errthum had 3 aces, Alexa Siegenthaler had 26 assists and Jaden Zuber had 11 digs.
On September 22nd, the Lady Ponies hosted Black Hawk. They lost in three, 20-25; 16-25; 17-25.
Ellie Gustafson had 16 kills and 9 digs. Alexa Siegenthaler had 2 blocks and 15 assists. Hannah Clark had 4 kills, Katelyn Eyler had 4 kills and Macey Grant had 9 digs.

41st Annual Native American Indian Artifact Show

The Badger State Archaeological Society will hold its 41st Annual Indian Artifact Show on Saturday, October 17th. The event will be held at the Junction House, N3693 County Road J, three miles northwest of Monroe, WI, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Due to COVID, this is a new place and date.
There is no admission, but donations are appreciated with funds going to Wisconsin & Illinois Archaeological societies.

New Drive Up Window Opening at Cenex

You may have noticed that there are some changes happening at the Blanchardville Cooperative Oil convenience store in New Glarus. The big news is that on October 6th, the New Glarus convenience store will open their drive-up/pick-up window.
The drive-up/pick-up window will provide customers a convenient breakfast and coffee menu of options. All items that are offered on the breakfast menu within the store will be available for the drive-thru customers. There is only so much time in the morning, and the Co-op wants to help keep everyone in the community moving.

New Glarus Lions Golf Outing to Benefit our Community's Charities

The annual golf outing, sponsored by the New Glarus Lions, will be held at the Edelweiss Chalet Country Club with tee times starting at 12:00 noon on Sunday, October 4th. At this event Lions have raised funds for our contributions to the community with a Lions 50-50 raffle. What you pay for a 50-50 raffle ticket goes half to the winners and half to Lions.

Monticello Fall Clean Up

All items for Monticello’s Fall Clean Up must be separated/sorted and curbside by 7:00 a.m., Monday, October 19, 2020.
All debris, excluding brush, must be in an area not larger than four feet wide by ten feet long by four feet high.
Debris accepted are furniture and miscellaneous junk, paint cans (empty or open with paint dried), empty burn barrels, metal and appliances and all small loose articles, which must be placed in an open, disposable container.

Monticello Absentee Voting Information

The Village of Monticello is continuing to accept absentee ballot requests. After receiving your ballot through the mail, residents can return their completed ballots to the Village Hall, 140 N. Main Street, in the drop slot in the entryway of the Clerk’s Office, or send them back by mail.
In-person absentee voting will be at the Clerk’s Office from October 20-30, by appointment only. Please make an appointment by calling (608) 938-4383.
The polls will be open on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at the Village Hall from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
