Belleville Fall Clean Up Day

Wednesday, October 7, 2020, is Belleville’s annual fall clean-up day.
This is the time to place items that do not fit in your trash cart at the curb to dispose of them (see list of acceptable items below). Please place these items neatly at your curb next to your cart by 6:00 a.m., on the day of the event.
You can sign up for email updates on waste disposal by emailing info@pellitteri.com.

Primrose Church Supper Cancelled

These are times like no other. Normally we’d be busy with Lefse making, planning work schedules, pie makers, relish folks, ordering groceries and so very much more.
But, not this year; it’s quiet. We want everyone to be safe and stay healthy. So there will be no Primrose Fall Church Supper in 2020.
But we will continue to hope for things to improve, so that we can gather again in some way in 2021.
We thank you for your understanding and may all be well with you.

<strong>Sgt. Richard Gmur Receives Army Discharge</strong>
Sgt. Richard Gmur, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gmur, arrived home on Tuesday, having received his discharge from the Army. He served in the European area nearly two years and entered France 25 days after D-Day. He returned to his home here on August 1st from foreign service and recently has been stationed at Camp Campbell, Ky. He entered service in March 1943.

New Glarus American Legion Holds Drive Thru Pancake Breakfast

The American Legion and Auxiliary Unit #141 in New Glarus held a drive thru pancake breakfast on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at the Legion Hall on 2nd Street in New Glarus.
The Legion and Auxiliary wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped out or stopped by to pick up breakfast.
The event was a huge success and the group hopes to do it again next month before the snow flies...maybe even after the snow flies.

Monticello Lions Club Dedicate Park Shelter

On Saturday, September 26, 2020, the Monticello Lions, together with Lois Hopkins, dedicated the new park shelter to Jim Hopkins in his memory. This project has been a two year collaboration between the Lions Club and Lois. Please stop in and enjoy this space Thanks to all the planning and work of Lion Mike Davis and Lion Linn Lederman of the environment committee of the Lions Club.

Dairy Youth Recognition Auction Scholarship Winners Announced

Six Green County area youth were selected to receive scholarships through the annual Dairy Youth Recognition Auction Scholarship program. The scholarships are funded through proceeds garnered from the Green County Dairy Youth Recognition Auction that is held in conjunction with the Cheese Auction conducted by the Foreign Type Cheesemakers Association at the County Fair. Because the Green County Fair was unable to be held, this year's recipients are being recognized through this press release.
