Decatur Dairy's Steve Stettler To Receive 2016 WCMA Life Member Award

Steve Stettler, a third-generation cheese maker and a Wisconsin Master Cheesemaker, will be honored April 14, 2016, with the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association’s (WCMA) Life Member Award.
The WCMA has offered this award, its highest honor for service to the Association, since 1918. Stettler will be the 84th life member selected by the WCMA.
The Life Member Award will be presented during the International Cheese Technology Expo (ICTE) Awards Banquet in Milwaukee, WI.

Monticello Lions and Lioness Clubs Promote Diabetes Awareness Month

According to the CDC, almost 29.1 million people in the United States have diabetes, or 9.3% of the population!  While an estimated 21 million have been diagnosed, unfortunately, one-fourth are unaware they have this disease.  The estimated total of direct and indirect costs for this disease is $245 billion.

It’s been too cold to play outside – come get some fun inside exercise! Elementary students and their families are invited to come play dodgeball, kickball, basketball, volleyball and practice yoga in the Elmer Lemon Gym on Friday, March 4, 2016, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

Trinity Irish Dancers to Perform

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Irish dance and music, brought to you by the Belleville Public Library. 
Sunday, February 28, at 3:00 p.m., at the Belleville High School Auditorium, Trinity Irish Dancers of Madison will perform and share how dance is a part of Ireland’s history, including how Irish dancing began in 16th-century Ireland, evolved during the 400 years of Penal Days, and finally became the dancing we see performed in the United States today.

Belleville High School Band Recognizes Seniors

The Belleville High School Band seniors were recognized at the boys basketball game on Friday, February 12th.  Mrs. Meir would like to thank her seniors for their dedication and enthusiasm throughout the years. Their leadership and abilities will be missed next year, but Mrs. Meir would like to wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.

Dane County Emergency Management Services Honors EMS Members

A number of members of the Belleville EMS were honored at the recent Dane County Emergency Medical Services annual banquet. The event is hosted each year by Dane County Emergency Management, and 31 cardiac arrest survivors and their crews were celebrated – 14 survivors were able to attend. 
EMS Agencies with survivors in 2015 included:  Belleville, Brooklyn, Cross Plains, DeForest, District One (Mazomanie), FitchRona, Madison Fire, McFarland, Middleton, Monona, Oregon, Sauk Prairie, and Sun Prairie.

Tickets are available in the High School office starting on February 29th. Tickets are $6.00 for students/seniors, $10.00 for adults.
Show times are Friday, March 11th, at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, March 12th, at 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, March 13th, 2:00 p.m.
