High school students and adults who are interested in the wide array of programs Blackhawk Technical College offers are encouraged to investigate important information programs being offered by BTC starting February 13 and running through February 24.
These sessions will open on Saturday, February 13th with BTC’s College Preview Day and run through the 24th with eight different Tech Exploration Days that feature hands-on experiences for students in BTC program offerings.

The Monticello Middle School FCCLA will be hosting their annual senior citizen meal on Tuesday, February 16th. The meal will be held in the FCS room from 5:00 p.m.-5:45 p.m. This year we are serving soup. Each member of the Middle School FCCLA will bring a side dish or dessert to contribute to the meal.

On Sunday, January 31st, Lake Montesian in Monticello was full of avid fishermen and youth who take fishing very seriously. This Fisheree is an annual event sponsored by the Green County Conservation League and the Monticello Lions Club.  They all had a good time, even with the rain in the morning. They were all trying to catch the biggest fish. There is a warming place at the octagon shelter house where there were many door prizes.

Every now and then, one has the opportunity to watch a group of kids perform at a high level and maintain excellent academic standing. When you are watching, you seldom realize what a treat it is to do so and for so many of them in the same grade.
Such was the case for the Belleville High School Class of 2011. Why is this class so unique so as to be highlighted here? Simple: They have come to exemplify the “STUDENT/Athlete” even into their college life.
