Village of Monticello Sets Date for Public Hearing Regarding EMS Service

The Monticello Village Board met on August 3, 2016. Bart Nies of Delta 3 Engineering appeared before the board to discuss the closing out of the N. Monroe Street project. Nies told the board that the pay application that the board would be considering was not a final payout since there were items on the punch list that would still need to be completed. Those items included landscaping, where the grass failed to grow or was full of weeds, and some areas that need repair.

Boundary Waters Adventure

Seven Belleville graduates and two Belleville teachers spent six days and five nights in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW). We enjoyed the peace that comes with the wilderness. During our time away we saw eagles, loons, beavers, and other small critters.  We enjoyed some great paddling weather, swimming, and some great campsites.  We told stories, we played games, and we made memories at each of our five campsites.
During our time away we portaged our equipment and food close to 6 miles and canoed about 25 miles.
