New Glarus High School FCCLA Chapter Attends National Leadership Conference

The New Glarus High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) attended the National Leadership Conference in San Diego, California. The conference was held from July 2nd-July 8th. The National FCCLA Conference was held for all 6th-12th grade members from across the country to assist students in developing leadership skills while encouraging networking with other FCCLA members. Students had the opportunity to attend leadership academies, evaluate National competitions and compete in Competitive STAR Events.

Maui Ukulele Band Performs in Village Park

On Sunday, August 14, the Maui Ukulele band perfomed in the New Glarus Village Park. This concert was the last of the Music in the Park free concerts for this summer. The free concerts were a result of a grant from the New Glarus Community Foundation.

Art Fair In New Glarus

The village of New Glarus is a perfect destination for Labor Day weekend.  Head for New Glarus’ Village Park and the 54th annual fine art and craft fair, “Art in the Park.”
“Art in the Park” will take place Sunday, September 4th, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Juried artists will sell their wares, including pottery, paintings, jewelry, photography and more.

Announcing New 2016-2017 Grant Cycle

The New Glarus Community Foundation is accepting grant applications from nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations that provide direct service to the New Glarus community and from local government entities providing charitable programs to New Glarus. Requests from individuals are not eligible.
The New Glarus Excellence in Education Fund is accepting grant applications from schools in the New Glarus School District to support classroom programs or projects.
Grant application forms for both funds are available online at www.cfsw.org.

Grants Available from the Monticello Excellence in Education Fund

The Monticello Excellence in Education (EIE) Fund is now accepting grant applications. Projects that serve the Monticello School District area are eligible. Requests from individuals are not eligible.
The Monticello EIE Fund looks for projects or programs that propose creative and innovative solutions to current school needs. Projects that are not included in the school budget are preferred.

Monticello Foundation Scholarships Available

College students continuing their post-secondary education are urged to apply for one of the scholarships being awarded in October by The Monticello Foundation, Inc. Students must have earned 24 college credits and be a graduate of Monticello High School to apply.
Applicants are judged based on need, local community service, grades and leadership roles.

It’s that time of year again, students prepare to head back to school, and Monticello is gearing up for our annual Village Wide Fall Garage Sales! You can register your garage sale at the Village Hall before Noon on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, for only $5.00 to get on the map. We will have categorized maps made available after September 7, 2016, at local businesses, online at www.monticello-wi.com, and Facebook (Monticello Chamber of Commerce).
