Announcing New 2016-2017 Grant Cycle

The New Glarus Community Foundation is accepting grant applications from nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations that provide direct service to the New Glarus community and from local government entities providing charitable programs to New Glarus. Requests from individuals are not eligible.
The New Glarus Excellence in Education Fund is accepting grant applications from schools in the New Glarus School District to support classroom programs or projects.
Grant application forms for both funds are available online at www.cfsw.org.

Art Fair In New Glarus

The village of New Glarus is a perfect destination for Labor Day weekend.  Head for New Glarus’ Village Park and the 54th annual fine art and craft fair, “Art in the Park.”
“Art in the Park” will take place Sunday, September 4th, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Juried artists will sell their wares, including pottery, paintings, jewelry, photography and more.

Friends of the New Glarus Public Library Book Sale

The Friends of the New Glarus Public Library Annual Book Sale will take place on Sunday, September 4, 2016, from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., at the New Glarus Village Hall.
Our book sale includes children’s books, adult fiction and non-fiction books, DVDs and music CDs.
This book sale, along with events and membership donations, raise the funds necessary for the Friends to support our library’s facilities and services that are beyond the scope of the library staff and its budget.

Annual Tell Picnic

The Wilhelm Tell Community Guild invites the community to attend the annual Tell Picnic. Past, present and future participants are encouraged to attend. This picnic will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at 12:00 Noon, at the Tell Grounds. Brats, Hot Dogs and beverage are provided by the Tell Guild. Beer is provided by Steve and Christi Longo of Tofflers. Bring your own table service and a dish to pass. Chairs and blankets are suggested.

Grants Available from the Monticello Excellence in Education Fund

The Monticello Excellence in Education (EIE) Fund is now accepting grant applications. Projects that serve the Monticello School District area are eligible. Requests from individuals are not eligible.
The Monticello EIE Fund looks for projects or programs that propose creative and innovative solutions to current school needs. Projects that are not included in the school budget are preferred.
<strong>The grant deadline is October 15, 2016.

Monticello Foundation Scholarships Available

College students continuing their post-secondary education are urged to apply for one of the scholarships being awarded in October by The Monticello Foundation, Inc. Students must have earned 24 college credits and be a graduate of Monticello High School to apply.
Applicants are judged based on need, local community service, grades and leadership roles.

It’s that time of year again, students prepare to head back to school, and Monticello is gearing up for our annual Village Wide Fall Garage Sales! <strong> You can register your garage sale at the Village Hall before Noon on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, for only $5.00 to get on the map. </strong>We will have categorized maps made available after September 7, 2016, at local businesses, online at www.monticello-wi.com, and Facebook (Monticello Chamber of Commerce).
