The New Glarus Community Fund, a component of the Community Foundation of Southern WI, recently presented a donation to the New Glarus Library Capital Campaign. This $5,000 gift is to be used for Catelyn's Corner, a children's area in the future library, which will feature a seating area for a child and adult to read a book together. Catelyn's mother, Tracy Owen, was a member of the NGCF when Catelyn passed away.  The group always loved when Tracy would bring Catelyn (and a book) along when she attended the meeting.

<strong>The Village of Monticello Public Safety Committee will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at the Monticello School's Rehmstedt Gym, 334 S. Main Street, Monticello, WI. Please enter through the doors at the circle drive. </strong> The public is invited to attend this hearing, the purpose of which is to consider switching Emergency Medical Services from New Glarus Area EMS to Green County EMS. At the hearing all interested citizens will he afforded an opportunity to obtain information and present their views on the issue.

A major building addition doubles the size of Monroe Arts Center, 1315 11th Street, and positions the facility as a regional destination for visual and performing arts.
Completion of the $3.75 million project in southern Wisconsin coincides with the art center’s 41st anniversary celebration.  Two phases of the project remain.  Expansion plans began one decade ago.

WISC-TV3, Klinke Cleaners, the Community Action Coalition, and Magic 98 (98.1FM) are pleased to partner, once again, for the 31st annual Koats For Kids winter coat drive. This year’s campaign runs Monday, September 12th through Saturday, October 8th. Over the last 30 years, area residents, school children and businesses have joined together during Koats For Kids to donate 303,507 coats to individuals and families in need.
