Swiss Church Mission Pie Sale

The Swiss Church Mission Committee is sponsoring their annual “Pie Sale in the Park” from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, September 4, 2016, in collaboration with the annual Labor Day Art Fair.  Because it is often quite warm, we sell pies that do not require refrigeration.
The money generated will be split between our El Salvador Project and Relief for the People in Louisiana, so please come out, buy a slice or a whole pie, eat some pie and support these two important mission projects.

Dedication of Blood Donors Appreciated

Dear Editor and New Glarus Area Blood Donors,
Thank you all so much for helping us over achieve our goals last Friday (August 19). We were given a goal of 65 pints of blood, we sent the Red Cross 82 pints! You all ROCK on your dedication to helping others in their time of often life or death need. As a matter of fact, just the other day a guy in our community started bleeding and needed eight pints of blood by the time he got to the hospital!

Bubenzer Thankful for Quick Response by New Glarus Emergency Personnel

Editor,
Recently it was necessary for my husband and me to call 911 and request help after my husband fell in our yard. Though this was not a life-threatening situation, it was an emergency for us, and the response was swift. An EMS team from New Glarus arrived promptly at our rural home and gave my husband quick and thorough attention, checking vital signs, confirming no concussion or broken bones. A trip to the hospital was not required in this case, but they efficiently got him on his feet again, and able to walk once more.
