A dedicated team of local volunteers is working hard to bring back the New Glarus Farmers Market for the 2018 season. The Market will kick off on Friday May 11, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., in the New Glarus Hometown Pharmacy Parking Lot on Highway 69, south of the stop lights in New Glarus. In the plans for the 2018 season include vendor offerings of amazingly fresh, locally grown produce, meat, eggs, baked goods, jams, honey, pickles, sauerkraut, plants, fibers, artisanal crafts, and much more.

Many people want to give back to the community but may not have a lot of time to volunteer. In only about an hour, volunteer blood donors can help save lives and feel instant gratification.
The community is invited to give back and help save lives by donating blood on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the New Glarus High School, 1701 2nd Street, New Glarus.

The Friends of the New Glarus Public Library Trivia Night is on Saturday, May 19, 2018. Doors Open at 5:00 p.m. Trivia starts at 6:00 p.m. 
New this year is a Silent Auction, with many fun items to bid on. Bidding starts at 5:00 p.m. 
The event will be at Edelweiss Chalet Country Club, W4764 Edelweiss Road, New Glarus, WI.
Trophies and accolades awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trivia teams.

The exceptional quality of Alpine Boy™ meat products, produced by Gempeler's Supermarket, Monticello, was recognized at the 79th annual convention of the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors (WAMP) held in Madison in April. In the Meat Product Competition held during the convention, Gempeler's received three awards. In the specialty ring sausage category, their Ring Liver Sausage received the Grand Champion award. In the breakfast sausage link category, their Fresh Pork Links earned the Reserve Grand Champion award.
