New Glarus Lions Replace Trash Barrels in Parks

The New Glarus Lions worked with village government and businesses to replace trash barrels in several local parks recently.
Among the contributors to this project are the New Glarus Lions, Judd's Auto Body and the New Glarus Brewery.  The barrels were donated by the New Glarus Brewery, or purchased by the Lions, and painted by Jeff Judd of Judd's Auto Body.  The Lions club also purchased 15 new tops.

Saturday Night Is Trivia Night!

Tell your friends, tell your neighbors, tell your neighbor’s friends! Build your team and come play trivia at Edelweiss Chalet Country Club on Saturday night!
The Friends of the New Glarus Public Library Trivia Night is on Saturday, May 19, 2018.  Doors Open at 5:00 p.m. Trivia starts at 6:00 p.m.
New this year is a Silent Auction!  Many local businesses donated items and gift certificates!  Bidding starts at 5:00 p.m.
The event will be at Edelweiss Chalet Country Club, W4764 Edelweiss Road, New Glarus, WI.

New Glarus Area EMS ^Keeping the Pulse^" Run/Walk Fundraiser"

New Glarus Area Emergency Medical Services (NGAEMS) is planning its annual “Keeping the Pulse” run/walk for Saturday, June 9th. This is an important annual fundraiser to support the work of EMS, and every dollar raised goes to support the ambulance service and the equipment it needs to provide around the clock care, 365 days of the year.

New Glarus High School Earns High Ratings From US News and World Report

US News and World Report has released its rankings on the top high schools in Wisconsin and in the United States.  New Glarus High School received a Silver Ranking, and was ranked as the 35th best high school in Wisconsin.  New Glarus was the highest ranked school in the Capitol Conference and in Green County.

Monticello Blood Drive to be Held at Zwingli UCC

Many people want to give back to the community but may not have a lot of time to volunteer. In only about an hour, volunteer blood donors can help save lives and feel instant gratification.
The community is invited to give back and help save lives by donating blood on Friday, June 1, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Zwingli United Church of Christ, 416 E. Lake Avenue, Monticello.

Monticello Area Historical Society Annual Meeting

The Monticello Area Historical Society Annual Membership Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018, at T-n-D’s Bar & Grill in Monticello, located at 149 N. Main Street. Social Hour beginning at 5:30 p.m., Dinner at 6:30 p.m. 
Dinner is a two-meat family style meal for $20, tax and tip included.

A Night of the Arts at Library Park

The Belleville High School Jazz Ensemble and Vocal Jazz groups would like to invite you to attend our fourth annual “Jazz in the Park” concert.  This concert will be held on Wednesday, May 23rd, at 6:00 p.m., at Library Park in downtown Belleville. Both groups will be performing contemporary jazz selections featuring such artists as The Beatles, Coldplay, Jamiroquai, the Blues Brothers, Michael Buble, Chicago and Sting. This concert is free and features about 50 of our outstanding high school musicians who have been rehearsing together since October.

Cops N' Bobbers

The Belleville Police Department and Wisconsin DNR will be holding a Cops N’ Bobbers event on Saturday, June 2, 2018, from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., at the Belleville Community Park, Shelter 1, 10 Bross Circle.
Children ages K4 grade through 8th grade can participate in Fishing with a Buddy, and children 4th grade and younger can participate in the Fish Pond.
Lunch will be provided by UW Health Belleville Family Medicine.

Bike Safety Rodeo

The Belleville Police Department is hosting a Bicycle Safety Rodeo at a new location this year, Sugar River Park, on Saturday, May 19, 2018, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. It is for children in grades 4K through 4th grade.  The event will be held rain or shine!
Activities will include safety courses to ride through, free professional bike inspections, proper helmet fit checks and, if the weather is good, a visit from the police horses.
