New Glarus Bike Rodeo

For seven years, the New Glarus Police Department and New Glarus Chamber have hosted a bike rodeo in early May. A rodeo is a bicycle skills event which provides an opportunity for young bicyclists to practice and develop skills that will help them to become better bicyclists and avoid typical crashes.
This year’s bike rodeo will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., at the Depot on Railroad Street.

New Glarus High School Class of 2018 Looking for Volunteer Opportunities

New Glarus High School students will be giving back to the community by volunteering to help community members on the morning of Friday, May 4th. The Class of 2018 is looking to help senior citizens, businesses and other community members who are in need of some volunteer labor.

Monticello's Annual Spring Garage Sales

Once again we will be offering categorized maps and numbered signs for your registered sale for our community wide spring garage sales. Registration forms will be available online at www.monticello-wi.com under our Spring Garage Sale Events tab, or at the Monticello Village Hall.

Monticello Fire Department Pig Roast

The Monticello Fire Department will once again be holding a Pig Roast during Spring Fling, at the Monticello Fire Station.  Food will be served from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 19th.
Pulled Pork Sandwiches, Hamburgers, Brats and Hot Dogs will be available, either as a meal or just the sandwich.  A Pulled Pork Sandwich meal will be $8.00, a Hamburger Meal $5.50, a Brat Meal $5.50 and a Hot Dog Meal is $4.50.  Pop and water will also be available.

Monticello Spring Fling

The Monticello Lions Club is holding Spring Fling this year on Saturday, May 19, 2018.
The Booster Club Kickball Tournament begins at 11:00 a.m. If you’re interested in entering a team for the kickball tournament, contact Carolyn Schwartzlow at (608) 938-2736 or schwacar@monticello.k12.wi.us.
From 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., the Monticello Chamber of Commerce is hosting their fourth annual Car Show. Their auction will be in the entertainment tent at 9:00 p.m.

Wake Up Call: Stairway to Heroin Educational Series

Your Choice Prevention Education, in affiliation with Rosecrance, will be presenting a Stairway to Heroin Educational Series on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m., at the Belleville High School Auditorium located at 635 W. Church Street in Belleville. This program is for adults 21 years of age and older.

Who: All Belleville High School students are welcome and encouraged to attend, whether they go to prom or not.

A Night of the Arts at Library Park

The Belleville High School Jazz Ensemble and Vocal Jazz groups would like to invite you to attend our fourth annual “Jazz in the Park” concert.  This concert will be held on Wednesday, May 23rd, at 6:00 p.m., at Library Park in downtown Belleville. Both groups will be performing contemporary jazz selections featuring such artists as The Beatles, Coldplay, Jamiroquai, the Blues Brothers, Michael Buble, Chicago and Sting. This concert is free and features about 50 of our outstanding high school musicians who have been rehearsing together since October.
