The Women’s Guild of Zwingli United Church of Christ, Monticello, is sponsoring their annual Summer Supper on Friday, June 8, 2018, from 5:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m., in Fellowship Hall. The church is located at 416 E. Lake Avenue, and is handicapped accessible.
The menu includes Barbecues, Brats, Potato Salad, Deviled Eggs, Fruit Pies, Angel Food or Chocolate Cake, Strawberry or Chocolate Sundaes, Ice Cream and Beverages. Items are priced separately and carry outs are available.

The “Pink Cadillac Ladies” will be out and about in Belleville and the local area doing fundraising events for their Relay for Life team. The American Cancer Society has several Relays in our area throughout the year, and this team will be walking in the Friday, July 20, event in Mount Horeb. The team is walking to honor all cancer survivors and those that have lost their battle because everyone’s life has been touched by this horrible disease. Additionally, they will walk in honor of two special local ladies who are still battling, Kelly Pankratz and Renee Funseth.

The Belleville Police Department and Belleville Police Association co-hosted its annual bicycle safety rodeo for children Pre-Kindergarten through 4th grade on May 19. The event kicked off at 9:00 a.m., where children learned about bike safety. They then mastered a bicycle obstacle course. The children had the opportunity to get their bicycles inspected by Budget Bicycle Center of Madison. The children received a free helmet.

Alan W. Blum, age 58 of Monticello, died Friday, May 25, 2018, at Monroe Clinic Hospital with his family at his side. He was born on December 13, 1959 in Monroe, the son of William and Pauline (Krueger) Blum.
